Some places you visit with a list. You walk in, grab the thing, and walk out. The Watering Can is not that kind of place. Our latest little video was a wander of exactly this kind — a slow drift from the greenhouse to the flower shop, past the café, through the displays, and into all the small, easily-missed details in between. And that’s rather the whole point of us. We’re not built for the smash-and-grab. We’re built for the meander.

Start in the Greenhouse

The greenhouse is where most wanders begin, and for good reason. Here in Niagara — growing zone 6b, where our last spring frost lands around May 15th and the first fall frost arrives in mid-October — the greenhouse is a year-round cheat code. It’s warm, it’s green, and it doesn’t care what the calendar says. When the world outside is doing its cold, grey, zone-6b-in-January impression, in here it’s all leaf and life.

Wander the benches slowly. The tropicals shift with the seasons and the shipments, so the plant that catches your eye today might be one you’ve never spotted before — even if you were here last week. That’s the magic of a working greenhouse: it’s never quite the same shop twice.

Drift Toward the Flower Shop

From the greenhouse, the path pulls you naturally toward the fresh flowers. Our floral team builds arrangements the European way — loose, generous, seasonal, and unapologetically abundant. It’s worth pausing here even if you’re not buying, simply to watch the buckets of stems catch the light.

Our Tropical Garden Tea ($47 per person, seatings Tuesday through Saturday) sets you right inside the greenhouse for a leisurely afternoon among the leaves. The Workshop Village runs seasonal floral and planting classes for every skill level, so you can turn all that inspiration into something you’ve made with your own hands.
