What You’ll Do: As a Floral Designer, you will bring your artistic expertise and industry knowledge to craft exceptional floral arrangements that captivate and inspire. You will also play a key role in mentoring junior designers, maintaining quality standards, and enhancing the overall floral design experience at The Watering Can.
Main Responsibilities:
Floral Design:
- Create sophisticated floral arrangements, bouquets, and European Arrangements with a focus on artistry and precision.
- Lead the design of custom floral pieces for weddings, events, and seasonal promotions.
- Stay ahead of floral design trends, incorporating innovative techniques and creative concepts.
- Provide guidance and support to less experienced designers, sharing techniques and best practices.
Customer Interaction:
- Consult with clients to understand their floral needs and provide expert advice on flower selections, styles, and design options.
- Assist customers over the phone and in-person, ensuring an exceptional customer experience.
- Communicate effectively to manage client expectations for large-scale events and special orders.
Inventory Management:
- Oversee the organization and management of flower inventory, ensuring freshness and availability for all design projects.
- Coordinate with suppliers to receive and assess floral shipments, maintaining quality standards.
- Assist in the selection of specialty flowers and unique blooms for high-profile arrangements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of floral design experience in a professional setting.
- Strong portfolio showcasing a variety of floral design work, including event and custom arrangements.
- Advanced understanding of floral design techniques, styles, and trends.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor junior designers.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a passion for flowers and creativity.
- Strong attention to detail and artistic vision.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to lift and handle floral arrangements and supplies.
